Khashoggi's body parts transported in suitcases: Report

Saudi officials have been forced to admit that the death of Mr Khashoggi was "premeditated" after pressure continued to mount from Turkish officials.

Confirming a report in Turkey's pro-government Sabah newspaper, the official said the chemist and toxicologist were tasked with erasing evidence before Turkish investigators were given access to the Saudi consulate and consul's residence.

Lockheed Martin has found itself near the center of the global furor over the alleged murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

Meanwhile, Turkey's foreign minister has claimed a 15-man Saudi team that flew to Turkey before the killing of Jamal Khashoggi must have been acting on orders.

Initially, Saudi Arabia said Khashoggi walked out of the consulate and that his whereabouts were unknown, then that he died in a fist fight and still later that he had died in a chokehold.

Khashoggi, a Washington Post columnist critical of the Saudi government and its de facto ruler Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, disappeared at the consulate on October 2.

The murder has tainted the global image of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman - the king's 33-year-old son and heir apparent - even though the kingdom strongly denies he was involved.

Aiban, who is president of the official Human Rights Commission of Saudi Arabia, said the kingdom was constantly striving to promote and protect human rights "driven by the honourable principles and provisions of Islamic sharia and the traditional values of our society".

The boycott comes a few days after the Washington Post published Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's op-ed in which he specifically urged Riyadh to answer key questions on the death of Saudi journalist and Washington Post contributor Jamal Khashoggi in Istanbul last month.

Although Al-Aiban said reforms were proceeding, United Nations committees have said no law exists in Saudi Arabia to protect a right to free assembly, that there is little female involvement in government and that the number of executions rose sharply between 2013 and 2015.

A Turkish source told Al-Jazeera on Tuesday that the Saudis would be paying a diya - a financial sum paid under Islamic law in compensation for murder or bodily harm - to Khashoggi's sons and his fiancee, Hatice Cengiz.

"I think it's a awful situation", Trump said in an interview with Axios that aired yesterday on HBO.

The Saudi prosecutor-general has acknowledged that the murder was premediated. It has observer status, having quit the 47-member forum in June accusing it of bias against Israel.

But U.S. Charge d'Affaires Mark Cassayre appeared at the meeting in an observer status, saying that a "thorough, conclusive and transparent investigation (of Khashoggi's death) carried out in accordance with due process with results made public is essential".
