NIck Foles Expected To Start The Philadelphia Eagles' Season Opener

What Aaron Rodgers massive contract extension means for Carson Wentz

Quarterback Nick Foles will start for the Eagles in their season opener against the Falcons on Thursday night according to the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

"It is about the football team and the best interests of the 53", Pederson told reporters who had assembled for the coordinators' regularly scheduled press conferences on Monday. Because the team plays Thursday night, which is the NFL's tradition for its reigning Super Bowl champs, the Eagles have a few extra days before Week 2.

Wentz is returning from a torn ACL and LCL in his left knee that he suffered in December. When they take the field, Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles will be under center. And Nick Foles will be my starter Week One. The Eagles have only three more practices before Thursday, and they'll want whoever is starting to run with the first-team during those practices.

Quinn claimed that his team was more concerned about preparing for the Eagles' offense overall, rather than for Foles or Wentz. Pederson said earlier this summer that the starter would need a full week of work and that he would make his decision by the Friday before the game.

Charges dismissed for three New Mexico compound suspects
Reports indicate that the District Attorney's office did not even have a prosecutor I attendance for the court hearing. About an hour later, Judge Jeff McElroy came to the same decision regarding Siraj Wahhaj and Jany Leveille.

Pederson did say Wentz had not yet been cleared to participate in contact drills.

However, Foles did not carry that level of play into his preseason appearances, when he completed 16 of 26 passes for 171 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions.

Foles and the Eagles will begin their Super Bowl defense on September 6 by hosting the Falcons at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. The team is apparently in no rush to get back on the field and justifiably so if he still hasn't been cleared for contact. I mean, moving around and everything, it just kind of boiled down to a controlled environment.

He also said that if Wentz didn't get the call to start, he would be "kinda" surprised.
