Google is expected to launch the Pixel 3 phones and other hardware on October 9th in NY, according to a recent leak.

The leak comes courtesy of the XDA-Developers forums, where a developer managed to enable the settings when you sit the phone in the dock.

Either way, a Pixel 3 and a Pixel Stand could mean that you won't have to consider a smart display any time soon. There's also a more prominent option to explore what's new.

Google's Pixel 3 XL will be coming with a big notch on the top but its smaller sibling will not have the notch. Google has yet to announce an official date for its event but there have been reports that it will debut the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL on October 4 or possibly October 9.

The folks at XDA tweaked a recent Google App beta into firing up a UI that would typically only work with the Pixel 3 docked. The smartphone is said to come with a 5.5-inch (1080x2160 pixels) display with rounded corners and an 18:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone appears to have a glossy finish and long volume rocker and power button. It's also widely expected that the devices will have the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processors, accompanied by 4GB of RAM.

While it's a touch hard to make out, the image of the phone's face also appears to be sporting two front-facing cameras.

The design of the Pixel 3 will be similar to that of Pixel 2.

It appears the battery will be a relatively small 2,915mAh cell, while the dual camera will offer 8-megapixel sensors, as has been rumoured in the larger Pixel 3XL.
