U.S. Special Counsel Robert Mueller Seeks To Interview Russian Pop Star

U.S. President Donald Trump arrives at a Make America Great Again Rally at the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa Florida

On Monday, the special counsel sent Trump's legal team a new proposal about the terms of a possible presidential interview, renewing negotiations about a sit-down after an extended standoff. The letter "firmed up a previously expressed willingness to allow certain answers in writing", according to the New York Times.

The obstruction investigation reportedly worries Trump more than Mueller's collusion probe, The Post said, because Trump himself would be personally implicated in any obstruction charges, while it remains unclear whether Trump can be charged with collusion - that is, conspiracy - related to the Russian Federation investigation.

In a series of tweets Wednesday morning, Trump said Sessions should stop the Mueller probe, which he again labelled as "Rigged Witch Hunt". "Bob Mueller is totally conflicted, and his 17 Angry Democrats that are doing his dirty work are a disgrace to US!" he wrote. House Intelligence Committee ranking member Rep. Adam Schiff said the tweet amounted to "an attempt to obstruct justice hiding in plain sight".

USA intelligence officials are anxious Russian Federation and perhaps other foreign actors look to interfere in November's elections, just as Moscow did in 2016, members of President Donald Trump's national security team said Thursday. She insisted the president's tweets are an "opinion" - but not an order.

Rangappa and Harry Litman, who served as deputy assistant attorney general under Bill Clinton, both agreed on the CNN segment that Trump's tweet was evidence of obstruction of justice.

Mr Trump also labelled special counsel Robert Mueller, who leads the probe, "totally conflicted".

Trump has steadily attacked his attorney general for recusing himself from the Russian Federation probe.

But in an interview yesterday, two of Trump's lawyers said Trump was not ordering Sessions to take any specific action.

After complaining about the tough questions he received from American reporters in Finland, Trump has largely steered clear of the mainstream media, instead opting for safer spaces like an interview with ally Rush Limbaugh this week.

Prosecutors Paint a Picture of Paul Manafort's Lavish Lifestyle
Rudy Giuliani, the president's personal lawyer, has indicated that Mr Trump could pardon Mr Manafort should he be found guilty. Devine testified that Manafort ran a tightly disciplined, professional campaign that contributed to his candidate's victory.

The former special agent, Asha Rangappa, said on CNN that Trump is "clearly feeling some heat", possibly out of fear about what might come out at this week's trial of his former campaign chairman, Paul Manafort.

Former Manhattan Attorney Preet Bharara has hit out at United States President Donald Trump for giving misleading information through his Twitter posts.

However, the White House has said Trump's tweets are his opinion and not an order.

Manafort is facing charges of bank fraud and tax evasion, though his alleged crimes occurred before he was involved with the Trump campaign.

Second, we know Trump is lying because at the disastrous Helsinki summit, Putin said right in front of Trump that he wanted him to win the election.

"Just because @realDonaldTrump obstructs justice in full public view by calling on Sessions to interfere in Mueller investigation doesn't mean it's not obstruction of justice".

Trump's lawyers have argued that a president can not be charged with obstruction of justice given the sweeping executive powers granted under the Constitution. Giuliani said. "We have every reason to believe they don't have anything of the President doing anything wrong".

"It's not a secret: I think he'd like to kill the Mueller investigation any way he can, but I hope this country and particularly its representatives will not follow that", she said.

Asked whether the administration could be trusted to protect the country, Wray responded: "I can assure the American people that the men and the women of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, from the director all the way on down, are going to follow our oaths and do our jobs".
