Trump turns tables on G-7 allies with free trade ‘proclamation’

Moscow has denied the allegations.

But Trump said that the notion that the G7 summit was in any way contentious was "fake news", telling reporters Saturday that the conference had been "so wonderful".

"He can take that nation and truly make it a great nation so it is a one-time shot and I think it is going to work out very well", Mr. Trump said. Many reporters "are unbelievably dishonest".

Trump has long criticized the United States' goods deficit.

Trump was the last G7 leader to arrive and will probably be the first to leave on Saturday when he sets off for his nuclear summit with North Korea's Kim Jong Un in Singapore.

"This has been an ongoing project of Ambassador Huntsman, stretching back months, of getting a formal meeting between Putin and Trump", the official told the Journal.

"We've made a lot progress today", he said, adding that the relationship between the two countries "is probably better than ever".

Canada called Mr Trump's trade tariffs "illegal" while European Council President Donald Tusk warned that Mr Trump's stance on trade, climate change and Iran constituted a real danger.

Russian President Vladimir Putin is now in Beijing, where he was presented with a friendship medal by Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping.

In May, Trump hit Canada, Mexico and the European Union with steel and aluminum tariffs as part of an effort to create "FAIR TRADE" agreements with America's partners. He says: "That's the way it should be". There is nothing they can say.

Trump is telling reporters that he told world leaders that the USA will take whatever steps necessary to prevent unfair foreign trade practices. Canadians, for example, said Trudeau pushed back firmly on Trumps imposition of tariffs on steel and aluminum imports.

United States President Donald Trump's call for Russian Federation to be readmitted to the Group of Eight industrial nations has been rejected.

Manufacturing, an industry Trump focuses on, makes up about 10 percent of United States economic output.

For the second time in two days, President Trump called for Russian Federation to be let back into the G-7.

Trump's abbreviated stay at this Quebec resort saw him continuing the same type of tough talk on trade as when he departed the White House, accusing the summit's host, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, of being "indignant".
