Protesters rally outside Philadelphia Starbucks

The handcuffing and arrest of a pair of black men from a Philadelphia Starbucks outlet has drawn outrage and prompted a police investigation

Two men were arrested inside a Philadelphia Starbucks on April 12, per the New York Post, after an employee called 911 to report the two for "trespassing". "We apologize to the two individuals and our customers for what took place at our Philadelphia store on Thursday", they said in a statement.

Meanwhile, many on social media urged a Starbucks boycott- we already do - and lamented the state of the union.

He said he wrote the letter to convey three things.

The arrests have caused a PR crisis for Starbucks.

Prior to Johnson's video response on Monday, he released a public apology condemning the incident as "reprehensible" but many felt it was inadequate.

Roughly two dozen protesters moved to the front counter shortly after 7am on Monday (12pm BST) and chanted: "Starbucks coffee is anti-black", and: "We are gonna shut you down".

Speeches decried police brutality and gentrification. A Starbucks regional vice president who attempted to talk to the protesters was shouted down. An employee called police, leading to the men's arrest, according to the Associated Press and Starbucks.

But Trump had also ratcheted up tensions with North Korea . "It's the biggest change since the end of the hostilities", Graham said on Fox News Friday.

The store manager is no longer working at that store, a company spokesperson Jaime Riley told CNN, although it is unclear if she was let go.

Johnson said the fate of the manager who called the police has not been determined but he said all managers will receive training on "unconscious bias", The Inquirer reported. The city's mayor said an apology was insufficient and said he would refer the issue to Philadelphia's Commission on Human Relations to examine Starbucks' policies and employee training.

"It is a shame that [in] the year 2018 we're still putting up with this mess", said the Rev Jeffrey Jordan. "It's just too much being left undone when it comes to us being treated equally and fairly in this country". Starbucks did not respond to a request for comment about the employment status of the manager who called police.

Videos posted online show officers handcuffing the men in the downtown establishment on Thursday. And finally I'd like to invite them to be part of helping me in a constructive way to ensure this never happens again.

What appeared to be a White man watching the events of the arrest unfold asks police in the video "Well what did they do?" They then refused to leave.

"These officers did absolutely nothing wrong", Ross said.
