The 24-page report, prepared by a special committee of the state's predominantly Republican House of Representatives, included detailed testimony by the woman, referred to only as Witness 1, who described a sexual relationship with Greitens that included a string of misconduct and started one day when he groped her. Jamilah Nasheed of St. Louis first floated the idea of stopping future votes.
Greitens' office has hired a Washington, D.C., attorney who has represented other governors during impeachment proceedings.
In a press conference an hour before the report's release, Greitens was defiant against calls for his resignation and said the report signed by five Republicans and two Democrats would include "lies and falsehoods".
Senate President Pro Tem Ron Richard, R-Joplin, stopped short of calling on Greitens to resign.
Farther into the committee report, the woman described an encounter with Greitens in which he seemed to acknowledge he took a photo but said he destroyed it: (Woman) "You took a picture.' He said, '..., it's just because I fantasized about you, I fantasized about all these things, and you could ruin my life".

"While these actions took place before his election and are otherwise arguably a private matter, the testimony reveals behavior that should not be tolerated anywhere but especially not by those holding public office", Humphreys said.
