Chrome OS Tablets are Officially Here!

Acer includes a Wacom EMR stylus that stashes in the Tab 10. Acer

In a blog post announcing the tablet and pitching it as the new piece of educational hardware, the search giant stated Chromebook Tab 10 is "the first education tablet made for Chrome OS, and gives schools the easy management and shareability of Chromebook laptops". As mentioned earlier, the tablet will be available at a price of $329 and it will be launched in North America first.

While the Chromebook Tab 10 is aimed at the education market, you will be able to buy it even if you're not in or a school.

In Australia, Acer has risen to market leadership for its supply in the education industry.

PC-maker Acer has announced the Chromebook Tab 10, a 9.7-inch tablet with a built-in stylus that starts at $329-the same price as Apple's current cheapest iPad. The Tab 10 is powered by a 34Wh battery that will provide around nine hours of battery life on a single charge.

The tablet is the first of its kind running Chrome OS and is meant to directly compete with Apple's upcoming iPad which is set to launch tomorrow.

Trump threatens to veto newly passed spending bill
And the president's promise that he will "never sign another bill like this again", says Manning, is akin to President George H.W. The spending levels without any offsets are grotesque, throwing all of our children under the bus.

While Apple has always been a dominant player in the college-age education market-MacBook and MacBook Pros are dotted around lecture halls across the US-it has pretty much ceded the grade-school market to cheaper players like Google and its hardware manufacturers. The new $259 iPad will be measured against the Acer Chromebook Tab 10 in terms of features and specs.

Since it is a tablet, the Chromebook Tab 10 cannot really brag about its camera capabilities. Google and its Chrome-OS based devices are the leader in USA education market and with the new Chrome OS tablet, the search giant does not want to lose its grip. However, if the device is compatible with the Apple Pencil (currently priced at $99 USD) and the company doesn't bundle the two together, then the Chromebook Tab 10 will still be a more affordable option, even at a higher base price.

The rear camera in the tablet will soon get Google's Expeditions AR for classroom learning, claims Google via a blogpost. Also on board is 4GB of RAM, a 32GB eMMC storage drive, 802.11ac Wi-Fi connectivity and Bluetooth 4.1.

The Tab 10 also comes with a Wacom EMR stylus which is embedded in the chassis dock and doesn't require a battery or charging.
