Celtics 117, Timberwolves 109: Celtics clinch playoff berth in win

Jaylen Brown, who landed hard on his back and head following a dunk late in the third quarter, was going to be all right.

Silence spread across Target Center with Timberwolves fans and all the players and officials distraught, as Brown lay on the ground motionless with medical staff hovering around his limp body.

Ultimately, the high-flying 21-year old was able to walk off the court under his own power. Having watched Gordon Hayward get carted off the court in the season opener, the team was thankful Brown did not experience the same fate.

After the game, Brown took to twitter to say he was feeling OK, despite the headache.

The Raptors still hold a two-game lead over the Celtics, but there's plenty of basketball left.

However, there would seem to be a good chance that Brown suffered a concussion there as Harlan suggested, and the Celtics' swingman is indeed being evaluated for a concussion. "I think that's the difference right now between us being a really good team and being a good team". It's just their hands get slippery or guys are just underneath them and scary falls happen like that.

Brown had 14 points and five rebounds in 28 minutes for the Celtics, who held on to win 117-109.

It was actually Nemanja Bjelica (30 points and 12 rebounds) and Taj Gibson (18 points) who did much of the offensive legwork when Minnesota trimmed an 18-point deficit in the third quarter to five at a point in the fourth, but Boston pulled away in the closing stretch. He added 12 rebounds, but it wasn't enough for a Timberwolves team without injured All-Star Jimmy Butler.

With their only post-break loss coming against the red-hot Rockets (currently on a 16-game winning streak), the Celtics will look to continue the momentum of this road swing back home when they host the Pacers at TD Garden on Sunday.
