Apple Eases Code Development For App Store Devs With Buddybuild Acquisition

According to MacRumors, Buddybuild's website describes the company as a "continuous integration, continuous deployment, and user feedback platform for development teams".

"We're excited to share that the Buddybuild team has joined the Xcode engineering group at Apple to build awesome developer tools for the entire iOS community", the Vancouver-based outfit said in a blog post on Tuesday. It celebrated that fact by noting that it's a proud Canadian company.

"The buddybuild service will remain available to existing customers to build, test and ship iOS apps to testers through buddybuild.com", it added.

So far, Apple has not disclosed any financial terms about the deal. Even after the acquisition, the Buddybuild team, which now has around 40 employees, will stay put in BC in Canada.

In March previous year, Apple chief executive Tim Cook announced his intent to launch a startup accelerator for the iOS developer community in India. As to when it will happen, both companies did not give a specific timeline.

Tghe launch of new devices - iPhone 8, 8 Plus and iPhone X - played a key role in attracting customers to the App Store during the holiday season. In a business sense, Apple buying Buddybuild is a move to beef up the iOS ecosystem against rival Android by Google.

Jack Del Rio told reporters that he was sacked after Sunday's loss to the Chiefs, according to Steve Wyche of NFL Network. It doesn't happen often that a head coach breaks his own news, but it happened on Sunday evening.

With this acquisition, developers will find it easier to develop and iterate their apps for iOS.

However, 2017 proved to be an unusually good year for Apple's app store, since for the first time it overtook its closest rival. Exclusively accessible to iOS 11-compatible devices, the AR+ mode takes advantage of Apple's ARKit which offers players a more authentic experience in playing the game like walking closely to the creature and see how they look like in real world. For Apple, it is to create a secure environment for app building by each git push. And on New Years Day alone, people spent $300 million in the App Store, beating out last year's record-setting number of $240 million in purchases on January 1, 2017.

Apple has been undertaking a lot of initiatives to make the platform more attractive to developers. Back in 2014, Apple acquired Burstly, which made TestFlight, a popular beta testing platform. It started to require its users to use Xcode when utilizing the service.

Buddybuild was founded in 2015 by former Amazon employees Dennis Pilarinos and Christopher Stott.

Stewart Butterfield has served as an advisor for the company, and Slack has become one of its more prominent clients.
