CBS fires Charlie Rose amid sexual harassment allegations

Charlie Rose has been accused of making unwanted sexual advances toward multiple women, including former employees on his PBS show, "Charlie Rose".

After the report on Monday, PBS and Bloomberg suspended Rose's signature interview show, distributed on both outlets, citing the allegations.

"A short time ago we terminated Charlie Rose's employment with CBS News, effective immediately". 'This followed the revelation yesterday of extremely disturbing and intolerable behaviour said to have revolved around his PBS program'.

Two additional women spoke about Rose with The New York Times, while Business Insider published a story with accounts by three additional women, bringing the total number of accusers to 13. "That said, Charlie doesn't get a pass".

The women, who all worked for Rose or tried to work for him, accused the veteran newsman of groping them, walking naked in front of them and telling one that he dreamed about her swimming nude.

CBS This Morning covered the allegations in unsparing detail, including details about how Rose gropes women's breast and reach down their trousers.

Rose joins a lengthening list of media figures who have lost jobs because of workplace behaviour, including Fox News CEO Roger Ailes, Fox host Bill O'Reilly, NBC News political reporter Mark Halperin and National Public Radio news chief Michael Oreskes.

Kim and Kanye's kids don't know they're using a surrogate
Kim was open about Baby West #3, a girl who is due via surrogate "soon". She explained, "Alright, I'm going to break it down". I introduced her to my family earlier that day.

Rose was one of the best-regarded names in TV news.

This post was updated after PBS announced it was dropping the show. A former associate producer for Rose's PBS show, Reah Bravo, told the Washington Post: "He was a sexual predator, and I was his victim".

"I was deeply disturbed by and profoundly disappointed to hear the recent accusations made against Charlie Rose, who received an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree from SUNY Oswego in the fall of 2014".

Rose had co-hosted "CBS This Morning" since 2012 and appeared on PBS since 1991. One said he groped her buttocks at a staff party.

"By the time he touched me the first time, he was already very angry", she told the Post.

In a statement, Rose apologised and said he was "greatly embarrassed". "I always felt that I was pursuing shared feelings, even though I now realize I was mistaken", Rose said in a statement to the Post.

She then said that she wanted to share a story involving her and Rose that wasn't about harassment, but of the "underlying dynamic between men and women that contributes to this culture in which inappropriate conduct goes unaddressed".
